HiYa-This past weekend I bought a boombox and went to visit one of our challenged listeners Dean.. He lives in a facility down in Pueblo and at 22 years old his life changed forever. He is now 52 and still has a severe brain injury after taking a truck head on at such an early age. He calls my show everyday and has since I started. I meant Dean 2 years ago when I went to Lowe's in Pueblo, he got his caregiver to take him out to meet me. That meant so much to both of us. Dean just recently went through a back surgery and at the moment is in a wheel chair, but I am pretty confident that he will be walking with a walker in no time at all. While I was there I meant his roommate Derrick who is in a wheel chair after losing all feeling in his legs at 13 and is now 29. It made me think that we often take each other for granted and all of the little things that we tend to make big mole hills out of are for what? We need to let the little things stay little and the big things stay big.. I thought I had a picture of my trip to see Dean but I guess I didn't save it on my cell phone, which really upsets me. I look forward to another trip to Pueblo to see my friend. Take time each day to appreciate and love the ones you are with for the worst thing ever would be to suffer and brain injury and not be the way you once were and KNOW IT!
Much Love
G
