"I'm Somewhat Bewildered.."

Don't get me wrong..I love me some Robert Plant and Alison Krause..but FIVE Grammy's? I heard someone say the other day that the Grammys have lost a lot of their "punch"...due to the fact that there are so many other award shows. Could be true..but the Grammys still command our attention. And I like the fact that they are a somewhat of a hodgepodge..odd pairings of presenters..live performances that sometimes go awry..(Katy Perry anyone?) stuff that works..(the Four Tops salute)..stuff that leaves you scratching your head (Jonas Brothers with Stevie Wonder???) stuff that sounded like a good idea on paper but didn't sound good (Miley and Taylor Swift). It makes the whole thing kind of a trainwreck..you want to turn away but you just can't. And I find myself liking Justin Timberlake more each time he takes the stage..not so much for the music but for his stage presence. Dude is natural born "host" . U2 started things out OK with their latest single from the new album. But the fact that the Plant/Krause "Raising Sand" (critically praised as it was) won the album of the year kinda tells us we are entering some new waters. And that's OK..that;s what music is.
