What Matters Most

This week, a very close friend of mine lost her dad. It was one of those moments (because he had been in pain and very ill for a long time) where you say "at least the suffering is over". But it is easier said than done. Our own Jim Coda recently lost his dad as well. These are the moments in life that challenge us, that make us sad and reflective and in the end grateful for the life we have.
One of the reasons I came back to Colorado last year was to be closer to my mom (who is getting older but still doing pretty well) down in Durango, and to be closer to my brother's family in Denver. Not to mention the radio family that I have here as well, which helped me during my own father's passing a little over 8 years ago.

As we move through a difficult time in the country, there is a lot of uncertainty out there. Jobs are being lost..houses are being shuttered, businesses down the street are yelling at us with GOING OUT OF BUSINESS signs. It is not going to be easy to get out of this one. and like Gina I am hopeful that our new administration can begin the process. BUt through it all remember that family matters most! Take some time to connect or even reconnect with yours. Make a call..send a card or an e-mail....say hi in person...go see a school play or recital , or just spend some time hangin out with the family. Its what matters most. See ya on the radio.
