If you can dodge a wrench..you can rob a bank

Okay..this one caught my eye over the weekend. 78 yr old actor RIP TORN arrested for attempted bank robbery..well, he was in a bank apparently drunk..and with a gun! So,that charge seems to make sense..

What is up with RIP?? some other run ins with alcohol of recent , including a DUI charge would indicate maybe there is a bit of problem here. Ya think? But it does make you kida want to party with that dude !

most of us know Rip from his turn in the Men in Black movies..a great stint on the Larry Sanders show in the 90s..and more recently in Dodgeball ( if you can dodge a wrench BAM! you can dodge a ball)

Curious, I looked him up on imdb.com...listed are 178 movies and tv shows dating back to 1956.. with that gravely voice and hangdog face..the man was a great character actor. the mugshot pictured here is...ughhh..rough to say the least.

So..good luck to my man RIP TORN in all of this..I hope he doesn't end up having to dodge Bubba , his new cell-mate!

HiYa~ So this morning I came in to a GUT-Wrenching e-mail about some millers in MO that used these two dogs for target practice...Needless to say I have been crying for the majority of the morning. I just can not wrap my head around this one. Who dare use a living creature as target practice. I swear had I seen this I may have actually gone against my better judgement and hurt someone. I don't understand how the Department of Agriculture allows mills to continue to be legal. How our four legged forever friends are just property and not considered to have a voice. I couldn't post any pictures due to their graphic nature but I will say that we lost the male and the female is currently undergoing many operations and may not make it. My heart is heavy with sadness today.. Get well little Miss Sadie, you never deserve to be treated like this again.

HiYa~ Happy MLK day! It is always great to remember the King! He, even though only here in spirit, continues to do sooooo much to bring equality to us all. Everyone should be treated as they would like to be treated.. Next time you open your mouth and get ready to say something nasty about someone, someones race, someones political views, may you always remember that someone could be saying the same hate against you. It doesn't feel good and should never be done. Long Live The King!

Here's a pix of Bob Zany, a KKFM WORKFORCE CUTIE and Greg Haun.

Come on OLD MAN!!

so, that part in ROAD HOUSE when Wade Garret (Sam Elliot) faces off in the bar with Jimmy the hired goon of Brad Wesley has a memorable line. After some expected fisticuffs , kicks a pool cue vault over a dude and then finally its JIMMY vs BRAD...punch kick block..punch another punch..then JIMMY screams "COME ON OLD MAN!!!" more punches and kicks and finally...a gun blast and the words "THAT's ENOUGH!!" and so we are left to wonder..could the aging bouncer Wade Garret have taken Jimmy ??

the reason i bring this up is last weekend...it was birthday number 52 for me. after 50 really..who counts? but now it seems that I reminded virtually everyday when i sign on to FACEBOOK , right there on the right side a little box pops up and says HOT YOUNG WOMEN ARE LOOKING FOR 52 YEAR OLD MEN" which always makes me laugh. RIGHT! and specifically 52 year old men at that? uh huh. What about last year when i was 51? what no hot younger women were looking for 51 year old men??

ahhh Facebook we iove you. and your ads. well now that I am 52, anyway.

What a Mess....

so, didn't you just kinda think wayyyyy back when it was announced that Jay Leno would hand off the Tonight Show to Conan O'brien and THEN put on a nightly "variety" show at 9pm that..something was..amiss? I truly appreciate Conan's comedy, but it is a bit out of the mainstream (which to me makes is great) and therefore by its very nature, its more offputting for "average Joe" watching at home. Letterman , a bit edgier and grouchier has always been funnier to me than Leno. BUT,,Jay Leno ruled the post late night news slot for years. What was NBC thinking here? First of all we know that NBC ain;t what it used to be (few of us are)...try and name a breakout NBC hit of the last few years. Hmmmmmm--well there was Heroes a couple of years ago..uhhhh emmmm ..SEE? not so easy is it? So in reality this was a cost cutting move (putting Leno on in prime time) which woefully backfired. NBC affiliates were screaming about "lead in" ratings for their late news (where most local stations make LOTS of money).

Now, Conan wants out, saying he does not want to tarnish the legacy of the Tonight Show which for 50 years has followed the late news. Of course there is this contract thing worth somewhere between 45-80 million DOLLARS if he isn't hosting the Tonight Show and it looks like NBC is on the hook for it..but will probably have a settlement offer at some point. Where will Conan end up? Will Jay get the FULL hour back and return as the Tonight Show?

NBC is getting attention all right...just not the kind they needed :)
