Who Cares!!!

The nominees came out for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2009 and I say Who Cares?! Why? Where is Alice Cooper? He has been elligable since nearly it's conception and he has yet to be even NOMINATED! This is supposed to be artists that had a lasting contribution to Rock and Roll and no Alice Cooper?!?!? Think of all the things that make Rock and Roll cool; Who was the first to use amazing theatrics in his show? Alice Cooper. Who was the first to push our imagination beyond normal? Alice Cooper. Who was the first to use heavy make-up and costuming? Alice Cooper. Who was the first to concieve the Rock opera? Alice Cooper. Who was the first Glam rocker? Alice Cooper. Who was the first to employ what they now call "goth"? Alice Cooper. Who was the first to choreograph an outrageous stage show that left the audience saying "WHOA!"? Alice Cooper. Who was the first "shock rocker"? Alice Cooper. And we haven't even started to talk about all the Progressive and Art Rockers (Emerson Lake And Palmer, Yes, Peter Gabriel era Genesis, etc.) that haven't been nominated.. .and yet they can induct Rap and hip-hop arrtists?!?!?!?! This is more of a political sham then the Grammy's. Like I said, "Who Cares?!" Rock On - Coda

the Ultimate HAPPY MEAL??

soooo the things you find on eBAY...apparently this is a "chicken McNugget" ..which came out of the deep fryer with a notable resemblance to something else. I am not sure how McNuggets are even made...or what exactly is in them. Some kind of mysterious "white meat" ..which now takes on a whole new meaning. so the question is ..how much would you pay for this phallic phun bite?? and if you would buy it online...then what? put it in a special glass enclosed display? airtight and sealed so as to preserve the inherent
thrust bust? :) well no matter what you pay...don't get shafted!! or better yet from 16 Candles..."no more yanky my wanky...the donger needs FOOD" just eat the damn thing!

I've been talking most of the week about the accident on the way to Pueblo last Saturday when the KKFM Black Mobile Unit hit a canoe on the highway and survived. Just got the pictures back showing that the canoe wasn't so fortunate! :-)~ All Hail KKFM Producer Valisa Lamers .. "Canoe Slayer!" *g-g-g* Rock On - Coda

TWO DAYS

Eight years ago, that ii-fated Tuesday morning, the Mark Bros morning show was in the studio as usual, yakkin about stuff that probably was not that important. I do remember that the main focus of the discussion that morning was Eddie Mac of the Broncos, who had broken a leg that Monday night game, in ironically, New York. It was early , rolling into the 6:30 am half hour, when a listener told us "that we'd better get CNN on"...quickly turning on the TV we all watched, jaws agape as the smoke billowed from that first tower strike. Trying to figure out what was going on like everybody else. Then, minutes later, the second tower. And then...the Pentagon. And the air was out of the room..we switched over to the network news feed and all stood there as the towers fell and that enormous dust and debris cloud engulfed the streets. No one said anything.

I remember later that day too..coming home to my east side house..where normally you could hear planes flying overhead taking off and landing at the airport. The silence was deafening and chilling. Except for the sound of the military jets high above, all was quiet. People were in their homes watching the endless loops of the crashing towers and horrendous loss of life. The next day on KKFM was somber and news filled and we spent the day taking calls and letting people tell their stories which was emotionally difficult by the end of the show. Finally on 9/13 we decided we needed to get out and the entire Citadel cluster of radio stations had a massive fund raiser in front of our stations ..where listeners responded like nothing I have ever seen or likely will never see again. close to $500,000 raised and more importantly people wanted to GET OUT and come and talk and touch other people. Still to this day the emotions of that day are my strongest and most poignant of my entire radio career.

These days with the yelling and the uncivil behavior we have witnessed in the past few months , it would be nice to get back to the feelings of those TWO DAYS.
