There Was NO Blizzard Here!!!

Last week, I was able to miss the blizzard while taking some much needed RnR time in Key Largo, FL. As another cold front moves into the Pikes Peak Region; I'll be looking back at all of the pictures I took, frequently, while reliving my week out of town. Those familiar with the Key Largo area may recognize this prime sunset viewing spot from behind the world famous Carribean Club. It is good to be home though.

Spring HAS Sprung!

Weather is warming up, roads are getting clean, gas prices are going up and it's pretty obvious the kids haven't cleaned up after the dog in the back yard all winter. Fortunately the grass is brown too and you have to almost be walking in it to see the mess. Should be a great weekend though... get out and enjoy it! Then, next saturday, come down to the KKFM Block Party and let's have some fun! Don't know about the KKFM Block Party? Be listening this week and I'll see you there! Rock On! Coda

GImme some MONEY...

so, i am watching the coverage of the hearings in Congress going on right now concerning the AIG bonuses that hover in the neighborhood of $165 million. It is amazing in its complexity, this AIG mess. Most of us have no idea of what a credit default swap is, or mortgage backed derivatives, or even short selling for that matter.
All we know is that things went SOUTH, and they went that way FAST! The proverbial
house of cards has collapsed. Our economy is very intricately woven into the fabric of the global economy now. China owns a huge chunk of our debt. Some of the bailout money to the banks is going OVERSEAS to banks that helped tank our economy with hedge funds
that were selling short. and yet AIG pays out these huge bonuses --some to people who are no longer WITH THE COMPANY!! and some of the reasoning is that these outrageous payments are being made because these are the only people that understand the complexity of all of this enough to GET US OUT of this mess. REALLY? the only people who can get us out of this..are the ones who got us IN? I guess this is the same logic that applies to a software company hiring a hacker, because they can't outwit him with
their own safety features. The world is upside down!

OKay, its kinda tough to breathe., but...

Scientists have determined that the Mars Lander found water...not frozen but LIQUID water on the surface. How cool is that? Mars for centuries has fascinated us. The Red Planet..the infamous FACE ON MARS ...the canals..the ice caps..warlike creatures plotting invasions has intrigued fiction writers for decades and given us some great movies too (the FIRST War of the Worlds ) and not so great (Mars Attacks!) yakyakyak..but the best may be TOTAL RECALL..with the classic Arnold line : "KOH-haygunnn, give DA PEEPLE airyuhhhhhhhh"..the pic above shows what happened if you ventured out into the martian landscape without some 02 handy. Hotels, multi-armed mutant cab drivers..little psychic dudes who live in your stomach...now that is a world i want to visit! Where's my JOHHNYCAB???

HiYA- I am so not Irish but for some reason always look forward to St. Patrick's Day! Green Beer is always flowing and this year we will roll the dice for a trip to Ireland and 5grand spending cash.. Sometimes I wish I wasn't in radio 'cause I would like to win some of these cool prizes we always dish out to you the workforce. Oh Well!!! Ps. Mark Stevens is a ninny when it comes to 24 and Lost.. Here is why, I always report back to him the day after and give him the line from the show and he always tells me "You should read this." Eventually Mark will realize I don't read and will just buy me a green beer already:)

Critics Vs Bono

U2 has been one of my favorite bands from the very beginning. The albums, “Boy” through “The Joshua Tree,” were a major musical influence in my life. Their latest effort, “No Line on the Horizon,” came out just this last week. Have you heard it? Read the following story from the Reuters News Service, and feel free to post your own comment as to whether or not you agree.

Dirk Kirkland
KKFM Weekends

(Reuters) Irish band U2 releases its 12th studio album on Monday and while reviews are generally glowing, critics argue that lead singer Bono's dual role as rock star and campaigning "saviour" may be meddling with the music. The U2 front man has long juggled a dual career of rock superstar and high-profile campaigner, badgering world leaders and businessmen to fight everything from AIDS to poverty. There are those who feel his mission is beginning to hinder the harmony, alienating potential fans and coloring everything that U2 does. "It's becoming increasingly difficult to hear U2's music without filtering it through your feelings about the other Bono, that strident, sanctimonious swirl of idealism, agenda and ego," J. Freedom du Lac wrote in the Washington Post.

(6) Digital cable/satellite--oooh this is tough for me (5)internet on your cell and other stuff like iPhone apps--do you really need it all? (4)broadband internet --can't go back to dial up , but do I need WORKSPEED at home? (3) newspapers and magazines--sad but true (2) iTunes --i have already cut back there (1) home phone--yep--I only use the cell..who has landlines anymore? and ONE more piece of good news..RADIO IS STILL FREE well your good ol hometown classic rocker KKFM is! enjoy that--we all have to tighten the belts...but you can still have some fun out there!

Poser?

70's all week, did you get out and enjoy it? You know Ruby and I did. Mark Stevens on the other hand, still wearing his winter coat, still does little during the day before he comes in and STILL hasn't rode his bike!(?) And ya know, this wouldn't be an issue with me except that he came back and was all talking about how cool it is to be back to Colorado and be able to ride in the mountains again. Hmmmmmmmm. How do you spell P.....? Rock On! Coda

HiYa- Here is Cisoc and Lincoln laying together. Update on Cisco.. Cisco went this morning to have his little M&M's taken care of.. It was really hard seperating him from the group since he couldn't have anything to eat. I think he is fitting in our family quite nicely.. I have a feeling I will be a foster failure and just end up keeping him.. I know Nigel is smiling down from Heaven right now saying "Good Job Mom!" It takes a lot to take on a puppy.. I have always said it should take 3 days to potty train and even though there is an accident here and there for the most part Cisco is now potty trained.. What do you think I should do, Keep him or find him home?

Much Love

Get out and Enjoy it!

Started the weekend in snow and starting the week at 70 degrees! And the boss wonders why I'm not around during the day much today. *g-g-g* Took the plunge and signed up for Facebook this weekend. WOW! It's like opening yourself up for everybody who ever thought they met you... even a bunch who I've never heard of before! I'm thinking that we have to all get together at a bar or something to see if any of them come out into the light! :-)~ Rock On! Coda

HiYa- My name is Cisco, I am a 7 month old beagle jack russ mix.. I spent 61/2 months in a mill and then was rescued by Mill Dog Rescue.. I saw this blonde named Gina and she was singing Cisco kid was a friend of mine and I had to have her.. Although she is only my foster mom right now she is teaching me that there is life after a mill and how good a life can be.. I am scared of people but I am coming around and they keep taking me outside (am I suppose to do something out there?) I have 3 other dogs in the house showing me the ropes. Once I am neutered this week and figure things out I will be looking for a permanent home.. I don't know if Gina will be a foster failure and just take me on as her son but I hope so she is nice to me:)
Much Love
